TORONTO - Five things to watch for in the ´ºÉ«Ö±²¥ business world in the coming week:

Market holidays

It will be a shortened trading week. The Toronto Stock Exchange will be closed for trading on Monday for the Canada Day holiday. Traders in the U.S. will be off on Thursday for the July 4 holiday.

Home sales

Real estate boards for some of Canada's biggest cities will release their home sales figures for June this week. The Calgary Real Estate Board is expected to release home sales on Tuesday, while Vancouver is expected on Wednesday. Home sales for Toronto are expected on Thursday.

Trade data

Statistics Canada will release international merchandise trade figures for May on Wednesday. Canada posted a merchandise trade deficit with the world of $1.0 billion in April compared with a deficit of $2.0 billion in March as exports increased 2.6 per cent and imports rose 1.1 per cent.

Jobs numbers

Statistics Canada will release its latest reading on the job market when it publishes its labour force survey for June on Friday. The ´ºÉ«Ö±²¥ economy added 27,000 jobs in May, while the unemployment rate was 6.2 per cent for the month, up from 6.1 per cent in April.
