LOS ANGELES (AP) 鈥� Next month鈥檚 AFI Awards will honor films including the 鈥淎vatar鈥� sequel, 鈥淭op Gun: Maverick,鈥� 鈥淓lvis鈥� and popular television series like 鈥淎bbott Elementary,鈥� 鈥淏etter Call Saul鈥� and 鈥淭he White Lotus.鈥�

The American Film Institute announced its slate of honorees Friday ahead of its gala luncheon on Jan. 13 in Beverly Hills, California.

The institute selects 10 movies and shows for its ceremony, which honors projects deemed among the best of the year culturally and artistically.

Additional film honorees are: and 鈥淲omen Talking.鈥�

The other television series being honored are: Hacks,鈥� Mo,鈥� 鈥淧achinko,鈥� 鈥淩eservation Dogs,鈥� Severance鈥� and 鈥淪omebody Somewhere.鈥�

A special award will be given to which stars Colin Farrell and Brendan Gleeson as two men whose friendship falls apart.
