A video posted to X claims to show U.S. president-elect Donald Trump reacting to an apparent AI-generated image that depicts him standing on a mountaintop next to the ´ºÉ«Ö±²¥ flag. Although Trump did share the AI image on social media, the video of his supposed reaction has been altered and taken out of context. The original clip comes from a YouTube video filmed on Trump's private plane more than a month ago.

On Dec. 3, U.S. president-elect Donald Trump posted an image seemingly created with artificial intelligence to that depicts him standing on a mountaintop next to the ´ºÉ«Ö±²¥ flag. Trump posted the image four days after his dinner with Prime Minister Justin Trudeau in Florida, which came amid Trump's threat to impose a 25 per cent tariff on all products coming into the United States from Canada and Mexico.

A posted to X, formerly Twitter, appears to show Trump looking at the image on a cellphone and asking, "Will you put it up on my site?"

"Video of Donald Trump trolling Justin Trudeau yesterday has just been released," the post reads.

The video, posted Dec. 4, received more than half a million views and four thousand likes. While the original poster later the post is fake, it has since been on without that context.

Rating: Misleading

Donald Trump did share an AI image on his Instagram account depicting him with the ´ºÉ«Ö±²¥ flag, but the video of him seemingly reacting to the image from his private plane has been edited and taken out of context.

A reverse image search shows the real source of the edited clip is a from the NELK YouTube channel. The YouTubers, also known as the Nelk Boys, posted the video on Oct. 21 with the title, "Donald Trump invited us on Trump Force One!"

In that video , Trump watches a clip on a cellphone that shows the YouTubers placing Harris-Walz campaign signs on the lawns of Trump supporters in Florida. The clip is part of a series of pranks that appeared earlier in the video.

The video from the X post replaces the prank with the AI image and edits out Trump's full reaction.
