France has been rocked by protests since the shooting death by police of a French-born 17-year-old with North Africa roots last week. Social media users have posted a video claiming it shows rioters pushing cars out of a building, which then explode into flames after falling to the street below. This is false. The video is not from France during the protests this past week, but rather from a spectator-shot video of the filming of one the Fast and Furious franchise films in 2016.
The spectacular video shows multiple cars simultaneously plunging from large windows in a multi-storey building and exploding when they hit the ground. The cars fall onto other vehicles below while traffic around them plows into the wreckage.

There have been many news photos and videos of clashes between protesters and police in France over the past week. Police have responded in force to large numbers of protesters as there has been instances of cars and busesset on fire, buildings have been vandalized and fires have been set on streets.
Police have made since the protests began.
One featuring the video, taken from TikTok, of the cars falling out of a building says, "This isn鈥檛 Syria, Iraq or Afghanistan. This is France where 9% of the population has brought down entire cities!" The post appears to reference the .
features a shorter version of the video. The two videos have over 2.5 million views combined.
The original video was taken by a bystander during the filming of "Fast & Furious 8," also known as "The Fate of the Furious" in some regions.
The film was shot in locations around the world, including Iceland, Cuba and several U.S. cities. The scene depicted was shot in Cleveland, Ohio, in May of 2016.
Kasey Crabtree witnessed filming of the scene where cars plunge from the building and crash below. Crabtree on May 28, 2016, with a caption saying it was from the filming of the movie in Cleveland that evening.
She also posted the clip on , but it has since been taken down.
The clips recently posted to Twitter and elsewhere have been edited to remove a wider view of the street and a shot where the camera pans to an excited onlooker.
The original clip was picked up by both and in early June 2016.
had a in March 2016 in advance of the filming, and in June 2016, after filming had wrapped, posted another that included a link to Crabtree's video.
A shows the distinctive building in the eye-catching scene is the Halle Bros. parking garage in Cleveland.
The finished film shows the same scene taken from multiple angles and, aided by special effects, makes it appear as though many more cars are falling from the building.
